What is Bhagavad Gita?
Bhagavat Gita was spoken over 5000 years ago by Bhagavan Sri Krsna. Gita means song, and Bhagavan means ‘the one who possesses in unlimited amounts such qualities as, beauty, opulence, strength, fame, renunciation and knowledge. Possessing these qualities in unlimited proportions indicates that Sri Krishna is accepted by a multitude of Vedic saints and sages as the Supreme Person and therefore the topmost authority.
Lord Sri Krishna is known as the reservoir of ‘All Pleasure’, and to hear his words is to bathe in that transcendental lake, and thus uncover your constitutional happiness, which lays dormant within yourself. Trying to find a happy life, in this material world namely in inert matter, is compared to a mad animal running into the desert in search of water.
Sri Krishna words will give you the pleasure you seek and you will find that happy place within your very self only by the grace of His Divine Grace our teacher and guide Srila Prabhupada.
Srila Prabhupada is the compiler of Bhagavad Gita as it is, as we meet such a person in his words we may be fortunate enough to realise who we are, why we are here and what is the goal of life.
We are inspired by him, and thus have been appreciating the Gita for the past fifty years. We look forward to your association in this mystical Gita journey of Self-discovery.
